About Us

Village Green was created by three recent college graduates living in San Francisco. Like many people, we are frustrated by America's use of energy… its contribution to global warming, addiction to foreign oil, and reliance on unstable and anti-American countries in the Middle East.

We believe that when people are given the choice and the opportunity to act, they choose products and lifestyles to minimize their environmental footprint. Village Green gives people that choice… our goal is to empower communities to move away from fossil fuels and choose renewable energy.

Mike Jackson is an energy engineer most interested in clean energy policy. His previous job at Stanford University's Program on Energy and Sustainable Development focused on policies to transition China and India to cleaner energy technologies. He received an undergraduate and Masters degree from Stanford University, where he studied environmental science and renewable energy technology and policy. He lives in Cole Valley.

Rob Bearman is an engineer at kW Engineering in Oakland. His work focuses on renewable energy in California and energy efficiency in commercial and industrial buildings. Rob holds a B.S. in Earth Systems and an M.S. in Energy Engineering from Stanford University. He and Mike are old buddies. Rob lives in Lower Haight.

Jesse Krieger is a managing director for WestCap Securities with a focus on financing alternative energy and internet technology projects. Additionally Jesse consults on LEED certified developments and pursues a carbon-neutral lifestyle while advocating development and deployment of renewable fuels that have positive environmental attributes such as cellulosic ethanol. Jesse lives in North Beach where he enjoys the best food in the city and bike rides through the Marina.
